Understanding the Benefits of HPDs for your Company
If you’re an architect, interior designer, contractor, specifier, or other project team member involved in building material evaluation, please begin by watching our introductory Webinar (linked below). Hear directly from AEOC members how HPDs provided significant benefits for their teams.

The HPD value proposition for Project Teams
Hundreds of designers, architects, specifiers, contractors and building owners have embraced the benefits of HPDs and Material Health product transparency in Green Building. They understand the value it brings to their companies for investors, shareholders, financiers, and customers, as well as beneficial marketing and PR opportunities.

HPDs provide an industry-wide accepted standard to determine product ingredients
HPDs provide Project Teams with the easiest, most accurate and efficient way to select products that meet their build criteria, performing hazard screening and formatting HPDs to be consistent with the HPD Open Standard. The HPD Open Standard provides architects, designers and project teams harmonization with rating and certification programs such as International Living Future Institute, Cradle-to-Cradle Product Innovation Institute, Clean Production Action, BIFMA, LEED, WELL and many others. It is endorsed by over 330 companies representing the full spectrum of the building industry.

The Free HPD Public Repository
The HPD Public Repository is the easiest, most efficient way for designers to access and select products with HPDs. Well over 40,000 product HPDs have been published by manufacturers, providing extensive data to project teams on easy access to detailed content information about building product materials, hazards and associated health information. Each HPD contains a “LEED pre-check” to inform that the product meets LEED requirements.

The Repository is proven technology with broad industry adoption
The HPD Public Repository is the authoritative source for published HPDs and provides Health Product Declarations for thousands of products to review. When a manufacturer publishes an HPD using the HPD Builder, it is automatically uploaded to the Repository as a PDF file. Uploaded PDFs are then searchable with customized tools that allow Project Teams to find the right products that meet their project guidelines.

Quality Data in a simple, time-saving automated integration
Along with the LEED pre-check, the Repository utilizes a number of advanced features designed for Project Teams so that they may keep track of and monitor their research, communicate with manufacturers, and store or download HPDs as needed. Automated data exchange with leading certification and rating programs such as LEED, WELL, Cradle to Cradle Certified, Declare, Green-Screen CertifiedTM and many others, improves data quality and saves time.
