HPDs – the Leading Transparency Standard – New Features Make it Easier than Ever to Practice Transparency

With over 4,100 published HPDs, representing 10,000+ products, HPDC makes the practice of transparency easy and affordable – for architects, designers and manufacturers in the building industry. Accurate, Reliable, Consistent.

Use – HPD Public Repository for quick, free access to all published HPDs. Our new, advanced user features enable curation of project lists, and efficient download of project documentation in a single zip file. Want to contact the right person at the manufacturer to ask for HPDs or give feedback? The Repository enables you to quickly send your message to over 200 manufacturers who have registered contact information.

Create – HPD Builder – recently updated with a new, simpler User Interface. Manufacturers can more easily navigate the tool with intuitive menu options. Automated data exchange via opt-in APIs with data partners, Toxnot and Portico, enables use of multi-tool capabilities while eliminating the time and potential for errors from data reentry.

Learn – Introduction to Transparency – Need to complete CEUs before the end of the year? Our free, CEU Course , “ Empowering the Design Professional,” provides a solid introduction to transparency practice. Available to all: here.

Advance – New Resources for Experienced Practitioners – HPDC, in partnership with Parsons School of Design Healthy Materials Lab , has launched a “Discussion Series,” to address the needs of experienced practitioners looking to move to the next step in transparency and material health practice. Leading practitioners from Perkins+Will, Harvard, Vidaris, HLW, Colden, Parsons, Building Product Ecosystems and more share their protocols and methods for advanced practice. Videos from these live events are now available on theHPDC website . Stay tuned for announcements of coming sessions.

Thank you for a great 2018 – Working Together to Make Transparency and Material Health Practice the Norm

HPD Version 2.1.1– Full Implementation Nearing Completion – Update your v2.0 HPDs Now

Work continues on schedule to launch the Full Implementation of the HPD Builder v2.1.1 in November. Version 2.1.1 continues timely updates to Hazard Screening reporting, and also introduces the first wave of Special Conditions reporting capabilities. For more information on the v2.1.1 release features, and to access the Standard documents, click here .

If you have a v2.0 HPD that you want to update to v2.1.1 or later specifications, you can maintain the auto-update capability in the HPD Builder by updating your v2.0 HPD to the v2.1 specification now. You do not need to republish your HPD at this time. Taking a few minutes to update your Builder record now will avoid the need to reenter data at a later date.

For any questions about HPD Open Standard versions or the HPD Builder tool, visit the HPDC Online Support Portal or send us your questions atsupport@hpd-collaborative.org .

Member Corner

Here’s a shout out to HPDC Member, architecture and engineering firm, Page, for your commitment to transparency and material health practice, including the use of HPDs in the firm library. “Through our Materials Matter” Program, we are encouraging teams firm-wide to think about the health and sustainability impacts of the products we specify for projects. I try really hard to pick items that are sustainable and yet unique to keep in our library,” says Sarah Moore, design librarian. “We only want products that have health product declarations and environmental product declarations.” To read more about Sarah’s work at Page, visit the Page website.
Share your transparency and material health success in the Member Corner – contact us at membership@hpd-collaborative.org.
